据考证，二千年前的东汉光武帝刘秀曾下诏旨定烙画为朝庭贡品，亦称"火针刺绣"，这是世界上Zui早的有关烙画的记载。而美国的伯明翰市博物馆也早在19世纪就有收藏烙画作品;法国的比里亚茨（BLARRLTZ）东方艺术博物馆也收藏了我国现代的烙画作品《虢国夫人游春图》。在国际书画市场上一幅好的烙画价值高达150万美元以上……
Pyrography is an unique traditional form of Chinese Arts and it was also called “Fire Needle Embroidery”. Pyrography, from the Greek means “Fire Writing”, is an ancient and unusual art.
The effect is produced by burning the surface of a wood panel or silk to various depth of brown to make a picture, giving a similar effect to that so a pen or ink drawing, but is capable of additional subtle and beautiful effects.
Each Pyrography Picture can take days or months to finish. It is because of its pain staking production time and its unique beauty, this gives the Pyrography Pictures the highly collective value. There are many superb works of art, some in early 19th century examples can be seen in the Birmingham City Museum, United Kingdom. The Eastern Arts, Blarrltz Museum, France, recently collected one of the legendery Chinese Pyrography Picture [Guo Guo Fu Ren Xou Qun Tu] as its new proud art treasure.
